Rosario Güiraldes, EXPOSURE, EXPO 2024

EXPO Chicago 2024

Rosario Güiraldes of the Walker Art Museum took time this morning to tour some of the members of the press. She was incredibly welcoming. Before the tour started, she explained how EXPOSURE thrived to walk away from having a site specific mission and rather capture a range of practices and thematics. She went on to explain how the galleries selected for EXPOSURE reflect the vision of artists that institutions are currently presenting like experiences of immigration and diasporas, intersections of identity, race, sexuality, gender, resource extraction and climate change, and experimentations with media. EXPOSURE presents galleries that are 10 years or younger and is located at the heart of the fair radiating the energy and vibrance of emerging artists. Rosario emphasized on the importance of the audience to engage and be curious to the continued pluralistic dialogue.

Some of the galleries and works that caught my attention were:

EXPOSURE highlights solo and two person exhibitions, curated by Rosario Güiraldes.
